Malachite and Azurite
This specimen combines green malachite and rich blue azurite, two colorful minerals often found together where copper is present. Over time, blue azurite can gradually change into green malachite. Their striking colors make them popular with collectors, and some pieces can be cut and polished for jewelry.
This specimen came from a mine near the town of Morenci, western Greenlee County, southeastern Arizona a USA and is part of the Wayne State University collection in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
